KORN Singer Says New Business Deals Good For 'Brand'
February 6, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN has made almost as much news lately about its business dealings as it has about its new album, "See You On The Other Side". The group's new record contract, as well as a recently announced deal with a tour promoter, allows both companies to participate in much more of KORN's income than just record and ticket sales. Frontman Jonathan Davis explained why KORN changed the way it handled its business: "We felt it was time for us to step up and try and do something different. We've always been a band about being different, so we decided to try and do these different kind of deals to become partners with these people. The whole reason we did the whole deal is about, we're thinking about the long term and trying to build the KORN brand, and bring these people on board to help us do that."
KORN will begin a North American tour on February 24 in Bakersfield, California, wrapping up six weeks later on April 4 in Toronto, Canada. MUDVAYNE and 10 YEARS will be the opening acts.
"See You On The Other Side" has sold 640,000 copies since its release on December 6.
KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu told MTV.com that he is currently working on a new solo effort, describing it as "heavy," and not a follow-up to his 2002 rap project, FIELDY'S DREAMS.
KORN is about to shoot a video for "Coming Undone", the second single from "See You On The Other Side".
